Tavolina vs PromoTix, for seated events

PromoTix advertises 'no ticketing fees' on a plan whose price you must call sales to learn. We publish every number we charge, including the zeros.

PromoTix's free plan charges attendees 3% + $1.49 per ticket with its processing rate not published, and its 'no ticketing fees' subscription has no published price; Tavolina publishes its entire fee schedule — a flat $1.00 per paid ticket, card processing at Stripe's standard rate on the organizer's own account, and $0 for everything else.

Where PromoTix wins

  • Marketing tooling: ambassador programs, streaming, RFID — a long feature list, if those are what your event needs.
  • A genuinely free plan exists, if your attendees accept paying 3% + $1.49 and the processing rate is acceptable once quoted.

Where Tavolina wins

  • Published pricing: every fee we charge is on our pricing page with a calculator, including the fees that are $0. No sales call to learn a price.
  • Seated events on every account: table selling isn't an Enterprise gate — it's the product.
  • Your money path: your own Stripe account, Stripe's normal payouts.

Questions, answered

Is PromoTix really free?
The free plan shifts the cost to your attendees: 3% + $1.49 per ticket, plus processing at a rate the pricing page doesn't publish (as of 2026-07-15). The plan with no ticketing fees has no published price.
How do I compare prices if one of them isn't published?
You can't fully — which is our answer. Our calculator shows PromoTix's published attendee fee and marks the processing as undisclosed, next to every cent of ours.
Does Tavolina gate reserved seating to a higher tier?
No. There are no tiers. Floor plans, whole-table sales, sponsor tables, check-in, refunds, promo codes — one flat rate covers all of it.
